Hey! Fellow goat lovers! I've been called "The Crazy Goat Lady" by many folks, but Spring of 2009 earned me a whole new nick-name! Thanks for stopping by to see my tribute to "Baby Magnum" and all of the other adorable Caprine's that have blessed my life so richly! I hope you enjoy your visit |

| On March 25,09, a Boar nanny named, "Little Momma," gave birth to her very first kids! A set of twins! A doeling named "Frisky," and a buckling, later named, "Magnum." All seemed well at first, but several days after the birth, it became apparent that Magnum was not well. He couldn't nurse and he could barely walk. It was then that I got the call from my good friend and neighbor, Brenda asking me if I could possibly take the baby boy. March and April are very busy with daily births and bottle feeding can be difficult with so many little ones to tend to. Up until then, I had little experience with goats. Cattle, horses, chickens, etc. have always been my style. I was so excited at the opportunity to finally have my first "kid!" Although he looked weak and frail, he had the heart of a warrior!! His determination won me over immediately and I decided he needed a "manly name!" Magnum!! Partly for the character portrayed in the series, Magnum PI (played by Tom Sellick.) and for the definition of the word itself. The little guy sure lived up to his name....:o) |
| Magnum became very attached to myself and the rest of the family. At only 8 days old, it's obvious he was already spoiled rotten! |

| Magnum never learned to suckle from his mother so bottle feeding was a must! Like a newborn, he needed small feedings often, even in the night! |
